Danger to Dogs

Posted 5 June 2009

Photo showing the areas in Bushy
Park where there is a danger to dogs because deer are giving birth

In Bushy Park, the deer are giving birth to their young before the bracken growth is high. Bracken is important to the deer who use it to hide their young. The lack of shelter will mean an anxious period for the young mothers. We advise that dog walkers avoid these areas where possible or keep their dogs on a lead. Deer react badly to dogs who go near their young. Thank you for your help in this matter. Click here to see a map of the affected areas.
