Why we need members

In today's political climate, the continuing healthy existence of public assets such as the Parks cannot be taken for granted. They need visible active public involvement and support if they are not to wither or become excessively commercialised.

One-off injections of capital money – such as that currently being sought for Bushy Park from the Heritage Lottery Fund – are extremely welcome.

However, routine maintenance is becoming chronically under-funded. Membership of the Friends is an explicit expression of the importance that people attach to the well-being of the Parks – and numbers matter in how much influence we have.

How to join the Friends

Friends Appeal 2010

In 2008/09 the Friends have been raising money to provide more benches in the Park.

In 2010 The Friends have a very exciting project which we wish to raise funds for - watch this space...
